Pre- IEW Workshop

Open Lecture and Roundtable Discussion with Mr. Laszlo Gyorgy, PhD / Minister of State for Economic Strategy and Regulation of Hungary, and author of ”Creating Balance - The Mission of Economic Policy”

Wednesday, November 13 . 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM . BUS 202

Mr. Gyorgy will be leading an open lecture for SF State faculty, staff, and students, before making his way to Washington D.C. presenting at the United States Congress. In the lecture, Mr. Gyorgy will shed some light on new fundamentals of the economic policies of the 21st century by touching base with the research and conclusions just as outlined in his book "Creating Balance" offering appropriate and proven solutions. Mr. Gyorgy will also highlight a number of major global economic challenges of our times faced by many governments around the globe. These governments, while maneuvering between constraints and opportunities, are constantly aiming to find the right balance through their economic policies. In order to challenge most of the commonly agreed upon “Theses of Supercapitalism” Mr. Gyorgy will discuss other alternative solutions, or as some may say “unorthodox economic policies” by laying out five fundamental values. These values are: security, freedom, order, justice and welfare, actually implemented through some unique economic policies, such as the ones introduced in his native Hungary. Join us in this thoughtful chat hosted by the Economic Student Association.
