Campus Internationalization

San Francisco State University is a national leader not only in sending student on long-term programs in Study Abroad, but in our campus internationalization.  In 2012, SF State won the Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization.  As a campus, we are working on continuing our work in internationalization and being a leader.  Please feel free to contact SF State Abroad in the Office of International Programs if you want to be involved or have ideas at

Each year, SF State also is a leader in quality programming for International Education Week (IEW) to promote mutual understanding, established by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  International Education Week occurs every year in November.  Many faculty members incorporate the week’s events in their classroom learning.  We encourage you to submit a proposal online for an event you would like contribute.
